Comment on Cheating Google Adsense by David

I don't want to do anything wrong, but I have some questions. We started useing this to pay for the costs of the web site, we are a non-profit ministry. With this site it's just starting to grow, but we have the search bar and I think that is where I am messing up. Just so you know it's not our intent to cheat we just want to do it right. So let me tell you what I have done to get a notice from Google that if it still happens they will disable our account. Now 1st thing I found out and I will be changing is they want all links to stay in page. We set the site up so if it's part of our ministry it stay in the same page but if it is an outside link it will open up in a new window. Not the ads open in the same window only cause we have not firgued out how to make them open up differently without touching their code. But the search engine opens in a new window and each click opens in a new window. This way if your looking for something and you click on something you won't lose your seach. So sometimes you can click on 5 or more from the same search before finding what you wanted. I need help on how to make this part right so I don't get into trouble.

The second part is everywhere I go I ask people that when you search for things please do it on the jcgang's seach. And when I am talking with people at my work which is a bank so all the computers are shared but we all have different accounts. So I have people using the seach here as well. How should I go about changing this so I can get in the right with google without doing anything wrong. Again my intensions are all good and in no way trying to cheat but would like to learn how to be in right standing with google. I know it's not just this area though cause I do prayer sessions online and always telling people to go to the site for praye requests or seach for anything.

Now the pro to this is I never tell people just to click on the links or anything about that the only thing I have been asking is for people to use my search instead of something else.

Can you please help me do right?

Hi Angellica,

How are you ?
I think I need some help from you,
to give me some explanation.

In these past 1 months I noticed
my earning is dropping....
from daily about 1 or 2 USD to under 1 USD now.

The CTR compare to before my earning dropped,
not much change. It's always between 6 - 10%.

but the eCPM is different, before around 5 - 10 USD
and now mostly only around 2 - 5 USD.

Is this because the ads showed in my page rolling ?
I mean this time I have an ad who paid less to google ?

From forum, some said that having CTR more than 8%
is not good at all, because the possibility to be banned is there.
Is it true ? I'm so affraid, because I did frequently
get CTR more than 8% - even sometimes more than 10%....!

for example, on march 27 - I got
impression :221 - click:25 - CTR:11.31% - eCPM:$3.51 earning:$0.77

Is this normal ?
Anykind of respond will be greatly much appreciated.
Thank you in advanced.

regards,
reko

Just got banned by AdSense for making too much money on Feb 19, 2008. All websites that we had were generic business websites and everything was legal. Google Adsense's email indicated a 'bad business model'. Our translation is 'We are paying you too much money'. Go figure. We had been up and running for over a year until our websites were getting noticed by Alexa.com and Google AdSense's mysterious partners.

Comment on Why We Must (NOT) Block Low Paying Ads ? by Rob

I reached the 200 mark in my filter list a long time ago and have had to recycle spots within it, but I still have so many MFA sites' ads all over my web sites. A problem I have is that I need 30 URLs to block a single advertiser, as he/she/it has set up 30 domain variations to get around the filtering.

I have made suggestions to Google for the following:

1) The ability to black-list an advertiser from my site. This will allow me to pro-actively block the ads even if a new domain is registered.

or

2) The ability to block using expressions. For example, I never want to see an ad from any domain like "allthe*.*". This would block sites like allthewhatever.info. I'm sure a few of you will recognize those MFA sites.

or

3) Remove the filter limit.

The only problem is that this is not in Google's best interest, as they profit from every click. Their algorithms will determine how THEY can make the most money from your website. Unfortunately, this short-sighted thinking may end up shooting themselves in the foot. I know too many people who now treat Google Ads like they are banner ads... in other words, their eyes glaze over them as if they are spam. (which in the case of MFA sites, they may as well be spam).

I know I never click on ads anymore. The odds of me reaching a site that actually has anything remotely to do with the words/context of the ad is slim; and I know this. It won't take the general net population too long to catch on.
